Ofuro: Material as Part of a Ritual
For Ofuro, Carmen Barasona interprets the bathroom as a sequence inspired by Japanese bathing rituals, where preparation, immersion, and stillness form a continuous experience. Our Long Board Oak flooring in Smoke Dark creates a warm, water-resistant foundation, while Ridgeline wall panels in Dark Oak introduce structure and interact subtly with light. Designed for use in wet areas, the flooring is enhanced through specialised production techniques and natural finishes, making it highly resistant to water and suitable for bathrooms as well as spa environments. The result is a calm, reduced space in which material unfolds its full effect through restraint.

The Listening Bar: Continuity and Precision
With The Listening Bar, Mariana Paccieri explores how space is shaped by sound and perception. A fully coordinated walnut solution. Short Board flooring and matching Davos wall panels in a custom tone based on Mocha Medium, creates a cohesive material language. This continuity across surfaces defines the atmosphere, enhanced by natural finishes that add visible and tactile depth.

Both installations demonstrate the versatility of wood, from calm, introspective spaces to immersive, sensory environments. For us, the combination of craftsmanship, material expertise, and innovation is always at the core of what we do. Our surfaces are designed to be durable, regenerable, and adaptable across a wide range of applications. With systems such as Ridgeline, we consciously move beyond traditional applications, evolving wood into a flexible and design-driven element.
As our founder Torben Hansen explains:
“The installations with Mariana Paccieri and Carmen Barasona at Casa Decor 2026 provide us with a platform to explore how traditional materials can be applied in new ways. Through these collaborations, we demonstrate both the craftsmanship of our surfaces and the flexibility of systems such as Ridgeline.”
We invite you to experience both installations in Madrid.
